- Ordering your PCB Assembly
Once you have uploaded your PCB’s design files, completed the bill of materials, and approved the part placements it is time to order the PCB. The Quote and Order tab in the PCB interface is where to start.
The Quote and Order tab breaks down the costs of your PCB assembly, the price of your PCB assembly at scale, and any issues that need to be resolved before you can order.
The left side of the Quote and Order tab features the price break down of the PCB Assembly. Everything from the NRE to Individual component costs is listed here.
On the right side of the Quote and Order tab there is a graph that displays how your PCB Assembly will scale at volume in price with a comparison between Prototype Class Service and Production Class Service. It also displays the quantity limit of the Prototype Class Service with your PCB Assembly.
Below the graph is the PCB Ready Check. This area displays any warnings or errors about your PCB that will need to be resolved before you can order. This can range from part placement not being approved, missing gerber layers, or part out of stock issues. For more information about these errors check out our Troubleshooting section.
If your PCB assembly has no errors or you have resolved them you will be able to order! Do so by clicking the blue “Choose Prototype” or “Choose Production” buttons depending on which class your order qualifies for. This will bring you to the check out experience.
Once you click the “Choose Prototype” or “Choose Production” button and create an order the system takes a snap shot of your PCB. Making changes to the PCB will not be reflected in the created order. If you need to make a change you will need to remake the order or contact support.
After choosing the class service, the interface will take you to the checkout process.
You can either choose from a preexisting shipping address or enter a new one. Shipments from MacroFab require a signature by default but we offer an option to opt out.
After entering a shipping address you will be able to select a shipping method. If you would like to pick up your order from our Fab let our support team know so we can accommodate.
Choose a saved credit card number or enter in new information. For the billing address you can choose an existing address or enter a new one.
On the right side of the checkout form there is an order summary. Here you can double check what you are ordering and the current status. You can also enter a PO Number if required or download a PDF of the invoice for accounting purposes.
After reviewing your PCB Summary and the MacroFab’s Terms of Service, place your order with MacroFab! This section will remain grayed out till all the information above is filled and completed.
Is there an error that you can’t figure out how to resolve? Shipping address concerns? Let our support team know!
